The Q45D-ODO AutoClean dissolved oxyge (DO) monitor uses luminescence/fluorescence based sensor technology to continuously monitor dissolved oxygen for aeration system process control.

It can be used to optimise processes where the maintenance of DO levels is essential, such as nitrification, de-nitrification or carbonaceous removal.

The Q45D-ODO AutoClean dissolved oxyge (DO) monitor features an automatic sensor cleaning system and requires only minimal maintenance thoughout it's lifetime. It does not degrade under prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

The sensor works by absorbing light at one wavelength into the fluorophore element in the sensor, which then absorbs the energy to reach and excited state. It then radiates light at a different wavelength.

When the oxygen molecule collige with the fluorophore, it cases a non-radiative reaction, reducing the amount of light given off from the fluorophore element. Through the process of quenching, the flourescence intesity is reduced, allowing the concentration of DO to be measured.
