Extraction / recovery
Comet Tankers – part of the Pims Group – received a call for assistance after the Environment Agency discovered that oil and debris had been discharged into a local stream, subsequently causing it to become polluted.
The Environment Agency instructed Comet, in association with Onyx Waste Management to remove the oil and dispose off site via a suitably licensed disposal facility.
All bulk liquor was taken to treatment plants in Marchwood, Southampton and Redbourn.
The clean-up operation, using tankers from the Group’s Crawley and Wokingham depots, was completed in a week.
Comet worked in liason with the Environment Agency and Onyx to ensure that the pollution was eliminated quickly and efficiently.
