The Royal Hotel
2 x 3,000-litre one piece water tanks, 1 x 250-litre temporary one piece tanks
The Royal Hotel is a charismatic Georgian property located on the Weston-super-Mare seafront and consists of 41 rooms, lounge, restaurant, bar and function facilities.
The hotel needed to replace the two existing 6ft x 4ft x 5ft galvanised water storage tanks located on the roof of the hotel.
Dewey Waters’ management of the project was key to coordinate all the trades that were required on site at the same time.
In December 2015, Dewey Waters carried out a site survey to establish the customer’s requirements and the site conditions. The aim was to carry out the project in the most cost-effective manner with minimal impact on the water supply.
On 29th February 2016, the delivery driver and installation crew along with a crane and waste disposal contractor arrived at site.
Craning the temporary tank onto the roof was the first task for the day. The installation crew were able to connect it up whilst taking the existing tanks offline, which meant that the hotel water supply was only affected for around 5-10 minutes. The temporary tank used was an H1 250-litre tank from our standard one piece range.
Once offline, the existing galvanised tanks was craned down from the roof and removed from site by the waste disposal contractor. The replacement tanks were then stropped and craned up to the roof. These were two 3,000-litre one piece water tanks.
The final task for our installers was to plumb them up, take the temporary tank offline and complete the pipework, valves and lagging.
