Lamella tube clarifiers
Tube settlers are used for the settlement of flocculated solids in applications where the volume of accumulated sludge is relatively large and a conventional lamella clarifier may struggle.
Lamella tube settlers can hold around twice the amount of sludge than traditional lamella settlers (for a comparable projected settlement area). Also, the tube modules provide an area where flocculation of the smaller, lighter, suspended particles can take place, thereby allowing their removal.
The tube settlers are available in a wide range of sizes, for flow rates from approximately 5 to 40m3/h. Higher flow rates can be achieved by using multiple tube settlers.
Sludge collects in the base cones. The sludge is removed by hydrostatic head to a separate holding tank via an automatic valve or an automatically operated pump (smaller units are supplied with integral sludge collection tank). Each sludge cone has at least one sight glass for monitoring the level of the sludge.
