The NICO sensor is based on the same concept of the more expensive TriOS sensors such as OPUS, LISA and VIPER but uses the latest photo diode and specific UV filter measurement to photometrically report the Nitrate (NOx) concentration in water and waste water. The four detection channels enable a precise optical determination of nitrate by absorption, taking into account turbidity , dissolved organic substances and additionally temperature. Different path lengths accommodate a wide range of measurement. Automatic compressed air cleaning may be simply integrated. Alternatively, an automatic wiper system may be simply attached. Typically, the sensor is directly immersed in the sample channel. Options are available for flow cell installation with optional ultrasonic cleaning or installation within a sample break-tank. The robust stainless steel housing may be upgraded to a titanium construction for saline applications. The sensor may be connected to the Tribox mini or Tribox 3 controller of used as a blind sensor with a G2 interface. The sensor is ideal for water production monitoring applications such as intake protection or waste water process control and compliance monitoring.
