Coastal Organics in Devon contacted Coveya as it needed to replace its old hopper and conveyor system, which was being used for compost processing and recycling. The conveyors are used to move garden compost to biomass, with the remaining compost going to farms and landscapers.
After the Conveya team completed a free site visit, it set up a finance scheme and installed a new HC1000 belt feed hopper and 16m-long HC1000 Monstaveya conveyor with magnetic head and drum. The magnet head and drum help separate unwanted materials such as metals before reaching the shredder. These materials are then sorted and recycled.
The new conveyor system is moving 40,000 tons of garden compost a year – over 240,000 tons in its lifetime so far. It has been successfully running for over six years, without a single part being replaced or serviced, and has increased efficiency and manual labour.
