The Aqualarm water leak Detecting Cable is comprised of two flat tinned copper braids separated, and protected, by Helegaine self extinguishing nylon 66 sleeves. This type of configuration gives protection to the sensing cores against dust, other types of conductive contamination, and mechanical damage. The cable is available in modular lengths of 1, 2, 5, and 10/m. Each cable is pre-terminated with a male and female locking line plug and socket.

Key features

  • Detecting cable for all models of control panel.
  • Constructed from hard wearing Helegaine 66 nylon self extinguishing sleeves giving increased protection against dust & conductive contamination.
  • Locking plugs and sockets for a secure connection.
  • Available in modular lengths of 1, 2, 5, & 10 metres.
  • For connection to Detector Modules and Locating equipment.

Specifications

  • Voltage at Cable: not greater than 2 volts d.c
  • Overall diameter of cable: 8mm
  • Maximum detecting cable length: zoned system – 50/m (including jumper cable); ZLM-500 – 500/m (including leader/jumper cable)
  • Operating temperature range: +1 deg C to +85 deg C
  • Construction: self-extinguishing polymide 66 monofilaments to ISO 3795 with sensing cores of flat tinned copper braid.
  • Colour: grey/blue
  • Approvals: BS EN ISO 9001:1994 / EMC Directive 89/336/EEC / CE Marked

Installation

Where protection is required from a liquid leaking from pipework, the Detecting Cable should be secured to the underside of the pipework by cable ties, after all vapour seal, or thermal protection has been installed, or secured to the floor slab immediately below the pipework, using suitable clips or ties. Where protection is required from a liquid leaking from equipment, i.e. water cooled computers, chiller plant, air conditioning units etc, the Detecting Cable should be secured to the floor slab around the equipment.
