ATi's Q45N dissolved ammonia monitor is designed to provide online ammonia monitoring with lower costs.

It uses reaction chemistry that converts ammonia in solution to a stable monochloramine compound that is equivalent in concentration to the original ammonia level.

The chloramine concentration is then measured using an amperometric sensor that responds linearly to chloramines whilst eliminating interference from any excess free chlorine that is present in solution.

This means that the monitor does not require the frequent zeroing and calibration typically associated with ammonia monitors that use ion selective electrode technology.

The Q45N dissolved ammonia monitor has a large format LCD display that shows the ammonia concentration, as well as a secondary display for operating variables.

Unlike typical ammonia SIE sensors, that can be subject to drift problems, the amperometric sensor provides excellent repeatability for long periods of time. The use of chloramine conversion for the measurement inherently subjects the sample to biocidal conditions, eliminating long term biofouling on the sensor.
