The Q45H/79 total residual chlorine monitor is designed to ensure all chemical forms of chlorine are monitored in drinking water, wastewater effluent and cooling tower water. It can be integrated into a NEMA 4X fibreglass enclosure or with a separate monitor/sensor for better location.

Unlike many conventional monitors, the Q45H/79 can detect chlorine concentrations as low 0.001ppm, because of improved sensitivity and zero stability.

The Q45H/79 total residual chlorine monitor uses EPA approved iodometric chemistry. The addition of buffer and potassium iodide causes the chlorine compounds to react in solution to form iodine.

The iodine is then measured using an amperometric sensor. The output is linear in respect to the concentration and provides fast response for both upscale and downscale concentration changes.

The Q45H/79 total residual chlorine monitor has a large 4-digit LCD display that shows alarm status and configuration information.

There are two assignable 4-20 mA outputs configured to track residual chlorine, temperature or assigned to PID control. The PID includes a manual operation feature and a diagnostic feature for relay notification of control problems.
