Hydrotech discfilters are modular microscreens used for solids removal and product recovery. The disc design is particularly suited when a large filter area is needed with fine filter openings.

It is ideal for applications such as:

  • Recirculation systems
  • Effluent polishing
  • Fine filtration of intake water

Operation

1. The water to be treated flows by gravity into the filter segments from the centre drum. Solids catch on the inside of the filter panels mounted on the two sides of the disc segments.

2. As the solids catch on the inside of the filter media impeding the flow of water through the disc, the water level inside the discs begin to rise, triggering a level sensor to start the disc to rotate and a backwash cycle begins. Typically, the backwash requires 0,05-3% of the total filtered water flow.

3. High-pressure rinse water wash the solids off the filter media into the solids collection trough.

Capacity

Capacities up to 1,000l/s per filter. Unlimited capacity with multiple units.

Construction

Filter elements are made from fixed barrier woven polyester. Filter openings from 10 micron.
Available in 304 or 316 stainless steel.
