Puriflo specialises in the design of submerged aerated media plant for treating waste water in food processing industries.
Submerged aerated media plant can deal with much higher loadings per cubic metre of tank volume than an activated sludge plant. No daily checks are required on the mixed liquor solids volume.
Submerged aerated media plant uses plastic media with a very high surface area on which a high density of bacterial culture grows. A settlement tank is required to separate dead bacteria, which leave the media, but the level of solids is much less than with an activated sludge plant.
With careful design, this type of plant can give results similar to a membrane bioreactor, but with much less maintenance.
Puriflo ensures the treated waste waters are appropriately managed so they can be discharged safely into the public sewerage system or taken on for further on-site treatment prior to being returned to the environment.
Puriflow engineered bespoke solutions and established proven technologies mean we can cater for all areas of the food processing industry including:
- Ready meal producers
- Milk processing
- Cheese manufacturers
- Poultry processors
- Animal skin processors
