As well as carrying out inspections to identify the cause of problems, Inspectahire solves those problems by locating and removing debris found in places that cannot be accessed without a costly tear-down.
By attaching a retrieval device on to the end of a rigid borescope, fibrescope or video probe, Inspectahire recovers foreign objects such as rivets, screws and metal shavings. If such items were not removed they could cause significant damage that would be costly to repair.
The company uses retrieval devices specifically designed for industrial applications, including magnets, alligator grabs, hooks, three-pronged grippers, brushes and snares. Working lengths of up to 7.5m (24.6ft) can be achieved.
Retrieval devices can also be scaled up.
Inspectahire has successfully retrieved lump hammers and nucleonic sources, and even assisted with the retrieval of a 0.91m (36in) diameter intelligent pig that was blocking a pipeline.
