Laboratory services

Chemical, microbiological and radioactivity analysis and results interpretation services for local authorities, central government and private industry. The water unit monitors drinking and recreational waters, and industrial effluents. The work of the environment unit includes radioactivity monitoring, land reclamation and air pollution studies

Laboratory services include: the chemical analysis of soils and leachates from landfill sites and contaminated land; the investigation of potable water, process water, surface water, sewage and industrial effluents; and the study of air quality and industrial gas emissions. On-site sampling includes borehole monitoring and CCTV pipeline

The laboratorys environmental services cover: soil and groundwater contamination monitoring against ICRCL, Dutch guidelines, Kelly classifications and US EPA target compounds; testing of potable waters against EC drinking water quality standards; testing of industrial effluents; air quality and stack emission surveys; and the identification

UKAS accredited analytical testing covering contaminated soil, water and gas samples; monitoring of respirable and fugative dusts; surface water surveys; asbestos surveys; and occupational health hygiene monitoring. In addition, gas measuring instrumentation and calibration services are offered, as well as scanning electron microscope facilities
