Siltbuster - air flotation

Siltbuster designed and manufactured lamella DAF units are used to remove suspended solids, organic matter, algae, colour and fats, oils and greases (FOGs) from water and wastewater.

Using established solids/liquid separation technology, the DAF units generate ‘white-water’ by dissolving air under pressure and then releasing the pressure to form micro fine air bubbles. The solids attach to the air bubbles which causes them to rise to the surface, where they thicken by natural de-watering and are then removed by means of a mechanical scraper.

The use of lamella plates in the standard Siltbuster lamella DAF units reduces the footprint resulting in a compact unit. The power requirements are also reduced by use of a Multiphase DAF white water pump rather than a separate compressor / saturation vessel arrangement and additional white water return pumps.

DAF systems can be supplied as stand-alone units, or as part of a complete treatment package, including feed pumps, flow proportional chemical pre-treatment, pipe flocculators or mixing tanks, sludge pumps and sludge storage tanks.
