Greengairs Landfill in central Scotland wanted to reduce suspended solid levels in the surface water on site prior to discharge into a local water course.

However, as the site had a large catchment area, treating the surface water was going to be difficult. In addition, there was no power available for any type of treatment plant.

Adequate monitoring of the final discharge also had to be implemented so that the client could be confident that they were meeting their obligations.

Hydroklear supplied a suitable containerised treatment plant with duty / standby generators and a monitoring station powered by a wind-turbine.

Hydroklear also provided consultancy for the required lagoons to aid complete settlement of the surface water.

The full package was supplied as a long-term rental in order to meet the client's budget.

The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) was completely satisfied with the plant provided by Hydroklear, which was of great benefit to the client.
