Hydrainer, a submersible pump hire company, commissioned Smart Storm to design and build a bespoke, compact pH balancing unit for use on transient, HS2 construction sites. Due to site restrictions on storing hazardous chemicals, eg acid, the product was designed to treat the highly caustic concrete washout using just CO2, and so the innovative NeutraliZer was developed.
Solution
The NeutraliZer works by monitoring the effluent’s pH and, based on readings, mixes CO2 into the wastewater via an in-line process. The pH neutralised wastewater flow is then monitored prior to discharge to sewer or watercourse.
Outcome
Due to its innovative but simple design, user-friendly instruments and Hydrainer’s excellent implementations, The NeutraliZer has gone from strength to strength, with ever-increasing demand for this pioneering pH balancer, now a solution for concrete washout water on construction sites all over the UK.
