Sequence Batch Reactor
Nijhuis batch biological plant is specifically designed to match the production cycle in a production plant. The whole process takes place in a single tank. The flexibility of the batch system is enormous.
Continuous biotreater
In a continuous system the treatment plant is continuously fed and the sludge is separated from the wastewater in a separate clarifier or an activated sludge flotation system. Most of the separated sludge is recycled to the aeration tank. The excess sludge is disposed after a dewatering stage.
MBR
An MBR system is a continuous biological treatment plant where the sludge/water separation takes place through a membrane system. Nijhuis designs the MBR systems with either flatplate membranes based on the SMBR concept or with external membranes installed on a skid.
Anaerobic reactor
The characteristic of the anaerobic system is that organic material in the wastewater is reduced without the presence of air. Organic material is reduced by producing biogas, which can be used for power generation. The removal efficiency, in terms of COD, of an anaerobic system varies from 75 to 90%.
