The Aqualarm ZLM-500 zoned locating module is used to monitor combined leader / jumper and detecting cables for water leaks and cable damage.

It generates pulsed echo radar signals, which are transmitted along the entire length of the leader / jumper and detecting cables. When any change in the characteristics of the cable, whether water detected or open circuit, occurs, these are compared to pre-programmed limits and when these limits are exceeded, an alarm signal providing the meterage reading accurate to +/- 1m, will be sent to the designated Aqualarm master control panel.

The ZLM-500 is typically used for larger areas to monitor detection cable per zone. The module converts a zoned control panel into a locating system within a network-designed system when connected to either an Aqualarm i-Zone control panel or One-Touch system.

Operation

The Aqualarm ZLM-500 zoned locating module generates pulsed echo radar signals that are transmitted along the entire length of the leader / jumper and detecting cables. Any changes in the characteristics of the cable are compared to pre-programmed limits and an alarm signal is generated when these limits are exceeded.

Power to the ZLM-500 is generated via the Aqualarm CAN network. A local, volt-free alarm contact is provided, and other alarm contacts are available from the Aqualarm master control panel.
