VARI-CANT® jet aeration systems are designed to be mounted higher than traditional submerged aeration systems, usually 0.76 to 1.2m above the basin floor. By mounting the nozzles at a higher levels, significant saves in blower horsepower are made, reducing power costs.
The VARI-CANT® jet aeration system offers efficient, flexible operation, effective self-cleaning with the VACFLUSH® system, low maintenance operation, independent control of mixing and oxygen transfer and lower energy costs.
It is designed and fabricated from FRP for maximum strength and corrosion resistance. Other materials are available on request to meet project specification.
Unlike traditional systems, VARI-CANT® nozzles discharge at a downward angle of 15 to 30 degrees, depending on the basin geometry. The downward cant drives bubbles as much as 0.76m deeper than their discharge depth. According to an EPA study, full scale tap water oxygen transfer tests have shown the transfer efficiency achieved at a depth of 3.3m and a 30degree cant is greater than that achieved by a horizontal system at a depth of 4.1m.
