Colas dates back to 1922. In 1985 and 1986, Bouygues acquired road construction groups Screg, Sacer, and Colas; later reorganised as Colas Group.

Colas provides safe, innovative and sustainable solutions for the design, building and maintenance of transport infrastructure. It delivers services to clients including the Highways Agency, local authorities, the MOD, the aviation industry and the private sector, as well as to contractors, consultants, architects and utility companies.

Colas have twenty offices and depots around the UK and a Head Office in West Sussex.
