Professional accreditation

The Engineering Council is an organisation set up by Royal Charter to regulate the engineering profession in the UK.

It provides the standard for assessment of individuals, and for education programmes and professional development programmes.

The organisation holds the national register of 232,000 Engineering Technicians (EngTech), Information and Communications Technology Technicians (ICTTech), Incorporated Engineers (IEng) and Chartered Engineers (CEng). These titles are protected by the Engineering Councils Royal Charter and may only be used by registrants.
