Founded as the Machine Tools and Engineering Association in 1910, it changed its name to The Manufacturing Technologies Association in 2001.
The MTA represents engineering-based manufacturing in the UK.
Its main activities include:-
• representing and supporting the advanced engineering sector through lobbying, media contact and networking
• providing relevant industry intelligence
• funding and supporting workplace training and education initiatives
Membership of the MTA is open to all companies involved in engineering based manufacturing.
