Detectronic
Technology has evolved from the mid-1970s when members of Detectronics' design team were involved in the development of the very first (patented) Ultrasonic Doppler Speedlog for the Marine leisure industry. This was a Navigation instrument which measured the Velocity of a boat’s hull as it passed through water and recorded the distance travelled. It was from this Technology that the first solid-state sewer-flow monitor was developed in conjunction with Water Research (WRc) in the 1980s. More recently, in 2008 following many years of continued research and development, working closely with the Water Industry and the UK’s leading waste-water flow survey specialists, Detectronic has launched its new ATEX/IECEx certified MSFM Flow Measurement System – which offers built-in GPRS Data-communication as standard throughout the product range.
The MSFM Flow Measurement system has been independently assessed by Sira Test and Certification Ltd and Certified to both ATEX and IECEx International Safety Standards as safe to use in Zones 0, 1 and 2 hazardous operating environments.
Detectronic’s Specialist Service Facility at Nelson, Lancashire is the UK’s first Certified IECEx Service Facility and is currently the only service centre in the UK approved by IECEx to service and repair the wide range of the Intrinsically Safe Instrumentation which is used in the Sewerage Network’s potentially explosive atmospheres.
Detectronic provide a range of flow measurement systems delivering high-quality data to the water industry in the UK and throughout the world.
