Spaans fine screens have a heavy duty, corrosion resistant construction. They are designed for liquid/solid separation in channel flows on municipal sewage treatment plants and industrial waste water plants.

Spaans fine screens feature a patented system with removable filter blocks for easy maintenance and operation. They have intermittent operation, triggered by upstream and downstream water level measurements to minimise wear and increase the screening capture ratio (SCR).

Spaans fine screens are available in sizes up to 4.2m wide without a centre chain and up to 15m deep with slot widths ranging from 1-25mm. They can be installed at an angle of 60°, 75° or 85°.

Key features:

  • Easy to remove modular filter blocks for minimal downtime
  • Access into the filterbelt without pivoting the machine out of channel
  • Patented, low wear block design
  • Low operational and maintenance costs
  • Fully covered design for reduced odours and increased safety
  • Suitable for installation into existing channels
  • Easy to adjust slot width
  • Low power consumption
  • No sensitivity to sand and grit

The company took over the production of these screens in 2000 after acquiring the assets of German company Bormet.
