The HyperClassic® vertical shaft mixer is designed specifically for water and wastewater treatment applications, typically in suspension and homogenisation tanks. Its impeller has patented design to ensure complete mixing by radial flow.

Construction

The HyperClassic® vertical shaft mixer has a vertical shaft with a patented, hyperboloid-shaped impeller. Minimal maintenance is required as submerged parts are not subject to wear and the drive unit is easily accessible, being installed above water level.

Mixing efficiency

As the mixer rotates close to the bottom of the tank, the eight integrated motion fins produce a bottom flow that is directed radially outwards. The turbulent flow lifts any depositions from the bottom of the tank. At the walls, the flow rises upwards, transporting the particles to just below the surface of the water.

The water flow on the surface is directed toward the shaft, distributing all the particles evenly throughout the tank. The speed of flow on the surface is reduced so that no further turbulence can be produced, which effectively avoids oxygen input via the water surface.

At the centre of the tank, the water is transported down along the shaft, completing the vortex-shaped main flow throughout the tank.
