The J+A Grit Pump (Jones+Attwood) is a specialised grit pump designed to satisfy the majority of grit pumping requirements.

The pump features a recessed, vortex flow-type impeller with a full 100mm diameter solids freeway. As an option, automatic priming allows the pump to be installed above water level, allowing for easy access service and maintenance.

The main benefit of using a recessed impeller is that it has a small amount of contact with the majority of the pumped effluent therefore impellor erosion is significantly reduced. Almost any solid that can enter the suction will exit the volute and pass through easily.

The pump is commonly located in a dry well and can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
