There are times when changing your mind is a very good thing. Take the last-minute decision made by a wastewater treatment plant in Managua, Nicaragua, to install a BIOdek™ plastic media trickling filter system.

The plant had been ready to install an activated sludge system but, after being presented with a detailed proposal by 2H Water Technologies, opted instead for BIOdek™.

2H assisted in the commissioning of the filters which, once established, were treating approximately 37,000kg/d of BOD and achieving an average final effluent quality of 14mg/l.

Almost immediately on going live, the BIOdek™ installation has delivered on every level, notably by cutting costs and reducing energy consumption by 50%.
