The Eliminator design of strainer incorporates a wedgewire screen that is extremely robust and overcomes many of the problems of the previous wire wound strainers. These screens were liable to be damaged easily resulting in the wire stripping off and potentially damaging the feed pump.
The new units are also fitted with a mechanical seal overcoming the problems of gland leakage which plagued the previous units.
