Standard laptops are often used in industrial plants for commissioning and maintaining instruments, but they can’t be used in potentially explosive environments. Endress+Hauser’s Field Xpert SMT70 is a powerful tablet computer that allows users to create a mobile workstation in the field, including Atex Application Zone 2 areas.
The Field Xpert SMT70 comes pre-installed with device configuration software and over 3000 device drivers, so it can used straight out of the box. The tablet works with virtually every modern field instrument and can connect to Endress+Hauser devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. It’s compatible with Heartbeat Technology to carry out inline verification and can also partner Field Xpert with the Netilion Library service to automatically upload configuration reports, pictures and device data, and share files within teams.
For support with commissioning, troubleshooting or maintenance, the SMT70 can be used with GoTo Assist software to allow an Endress+Hauser technical expert to access the instrument configuration remotely, just as if they were present on site.
