The Fluid Group has modelled Dissolved Air Floating (DAF) plant using CFD to optimise designs.

A great deal of information to aid the design of a dissolved air flotation (DAF) plant can be gained from CFD with multiphase simulation.

The following factors can be modelled, predicted and analysed before construction:

  • The white water level within the tank
  • The point at which excess air would leave a tank
  • Optimisation of maximum flow rates, air flow and recycle rates
