Colloide was selected by Coffey Group, representing Irish Water, to undertake the design, supply, and delivery of Package Sand Filter Systems for the Lough Talt Water Treatment Plant (WTP). This project aimed to extensively upgrade the WTP to ensure adequate treatment for various communities, including Tubbercurry, Ballymote, and surrounding areas such as Annagh, Aclare, Bellaghy, Curry, Lavagh, Ballinacarrow, Carrowneden, Kilmacteige, Coolaney, Cloontia, Doocastle, and Quarryfield.

Prior to the upgrade, these communities had been grappling with boil water notices, which are public health advisories cautioning that the drinking water is not safe unless it is boiled and cooled beforehand. Colloide’s involvement in this project was instrumental in providing an effective water treatment solution. Colloide's Package Sand Filter Systems were designed to enhance the treatment process, ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable drinking water to the affected communities.
