British tensile fabric specialist, Base Structures, has secured deals worth £350,000 in Denmark and Kenya to manufacture and supply bespoke products for local installation.

The contracts with BK Teknik and Virgin Limited Edition (Kenya) draw on Base’ specialist membrane manufacturing capability and quality of product and service, which isn’t readily available in those markets.

In Denmark, Base will supply 128 membrane roof panels for a progressive Danish social housing project in Broendby Strand. The panels will be mounted onto horizontal tracks on top of fence dividers between 128 terraced houses to offer residents their own movable shade or cover.

Each panel is made from semi-translucent PTFE, a long life-span material, and has been prototyped prior to delivery in April of this year.

Base will also supply 14 tensile tents for a luxury Kenyan Safari Camp. The contract includes manufacture and consultation on installation.

The two contracts support the company’s continued expansion internationally, with latter projects including the international tour of Zaha Hadid’s futuristic chamber music hall, a large stainless steel mesh enclosure at Le Pal Zoo in France and various interior and exterior works in Denmark.
