SulfaTreat is an economical and reliable method of removing hydrogen sulphide (H2S), light mercaptan and other sulphur contaminant from a wide variety of air and gas vapours such as biogas / landfill gas.

Large units containing many tonnes of SulfaTreat operating on a lead/ lag basis available for high H2S challenges.

SulfaTreat provides consistently high removal efficiencies regardless of wide variations in the quantity of pollutants entering the system, temperature and pressure.

Small 322 litre drum units are often adequate for treating low volume applications, such as wet wells and pump stations. Blowers can be used and are preferred in high volume applications.

Single or multiple unit systems are used depending upon specific site needs. All are simple to use and require virtually no operator attention.

SulfaTreat media

  • Iron oxides that convert to ‘fools gold’
  • High % take up by weight for H2S
  • Non flammable media, very important
  • Water will not leach out chemicals
  • Some oxygen required for optimum performance
  • Very dense, so high take up by volume
  • Low pressure drop

System design

  • Stand alone vessel provide minimum capital cost
  • Lead/ lag vessels provides maximum economy
  • Final polishing after bioscrubber
  • Standby when biological systems not performing

Advantages

  • Very limited maintenance required
  • Ideal for unmanned sites
  • Specified performance immediately on start up
  • Indefinite media life in standby mode
  • No limit on inlet challenge
  • Immediate response to large changes in flow
  • Less than 1ppm outlet against any challenge
  • Accurate life prediction possible
