RP18 is a specially designed, stitch-bonded polypropylene material that is strong and highly absorbent.

It floats on water and is used to absorb oil, including animal, mineral and vegetable oil, as well as floating chemicals. The material can retain more than 20 times its own weight, is reusable, and can also be used as a filter.

RP18 can be supplied perforated or unperforated in long rolls.

The characteristics of RP18 in comparison with other absorbents were tested and documented by a representative of Lloyds Register in 1988. This document can be viewed on the companys website.
