Industrial valves

(368)

Industrial valves are used to control, direct or regulate the flow of certain types of media: liquids, gases, steam, air, slurries and granular solids. They work by opening, closing or partially obstructing the passages through which these media flow. Read More

Automatic valves react to pre-set parameters, such as changes in pressure, temperature or flow rates, whilst others are manually operated.
- Gate and knife valves are mainly used for on/off control.
- Solenoid valves are electrically controlled pneumatic or hydraulic valves.
- Globe valves have spherical bodies, and regulate flow within pipelines.
- Check valves , or non-return valves, ensure that fluids pass in one direction only.
- Ball valves are good for fast, manual on/off control without loss of pressure.
- Diaphragm valves , or membrane valves, are generally used as shut-off valves within industrial processes, and can be controlled by different types of actuators .

Penstocks , stop logs and industrial pipes are found in other sections of this website.
