The A12-17 auto-test combustible gas transmitter offers high reliability through a combustible gas detector syustem that conducts automatic gas tests on the sensing element every 24 hours.

Typical applications include industrial plants to ensure leakage or gas build up is detected before explosive levels are reached.

The A12-17 auto-test combustible gas transmitter is comprised of two, matched sensing elements, electrically heated to form two legs of a Wheatstone bridge circuit. One of the elements is active and one is passive.

When the combustible gas contacts the sensor, the active element catalises the oxidation of gas, heating the active element and changing it's resistance. The passive element remains unchanged, which results in a change in the bridge circuit that is proportional to the gas concentration.
