Requirement

A new trash screen was required at Hartlebury Castle, a Grade I listed building near Hartlebury in Worcestershire to replace a degrading screen that was starting to collapse. The trash screen was in an area that was difficult to access, which meant that the design of the screen needed to ensure minimal maintenance requirements and a reduced risk of debris build up.

Solution

Working closely with the Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust and their contractor, a bespoke sloped trash screen was designed with sides to prevent access and allow raking to clear the grate, if required.

This project included the installation of a water level monitor, as requested by the customer.
