Singleton Birch has been quarrying Lincolnshire chalk for nearly 200 years. The company now produces up to 400,000 tonnes of lime and over one million tonnes of chalk annually.

Singleton Birch products are supplied to many industries, including steel, building, chemical and environmental.

Waste management is a growing area of the companys business. Its non-hazardous landfill is engineered to prevent any possible contamination of the local environment.

Also, Singleton Birch has proposals to build a state-of-the-art energy from waste plant, which will hopefully provide a solution for the non-recyclable waste in the North Lincolnshire area.

The companys quicklime product range includes Burntlime, Finelime, Granulime and Microlime, which are distinguished by their consistency:

  • Burnt Lime: lump or large granular quicklime (calcium oxide - CaO)
  • Finelime Burnt Lime: crushed quicklime
  • Granulime Burnt Lime: lump or granular quicklime
  • Microlime Burnt Lime: powdered, pulverised quicklime
