Vertex low-speed surface aerators offer constant efficiencies over the entire lifetime of the system, which can often be up to 30 years. They are suitable for a wide range of applications including tanks of any shape and size, oxidation ditches, MBR and SBR systems, lagoons, ponds, mixing tanks and buffer tanks.
They are designed so that the radial and axial forces are much lower than those of conventional surface aerators. This means the forces on the concrete and the bearings of the outgoing shaft of the gearbox will be much lower than standard high-speed aerators. The vibration characteristics are also reduced.
Vertex aerators can provide propulsion and mixing, as well as oxygen introduction. The conical shape of the seven blades is the source of the pump function, which creates good mixing conditions within the basin.
For oxidation ditches, the blade shape and pump action results in excellent propulsion. When suction tubes are installed, for deeper depths, this pump function is very important to ensure a good transfer of oxygen.
Vertex aerators have a simple, robust construction, which keeps maintenance costs to a minimum. They are self cleaning and easy to regulate.
