The Discfuser® coarse bubble diffuser is designed for use in aeration tank applications with high solids concentrations. It has three elements, an ABS housing, a stainless steel retaining ring and a movable PVC disc.

The movable disc is inserted between the diffuser housing and the stainless steel retaining ring, leaving it free to rise and fall withing the space provided. As air is discharged through the diffuser the disc rises and air acn pass around the periphery of the diffuser into the liquid. In the event of a power failure, or if the air supply is interrupted, the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid above the diffuser will force the disc against the housing, preventing mixed liquor to pass into the supply piping.
