Type 8713 is a compact instrument designed for the control of the mass flow of gases that can be used for most applications in process technology.

It uses CMOSens® technology to accurately measure the gas flow rate allowing it to control a set point or actual value changes within 100ms and also maintain its high sensitivity, even at low flow rates.

The measured value provided by the sensor will be compared in the digital control electronics of type 8713 with the set point given via the RS485 interface.

In case of a control deviation the opening of the solenoid control valve is changed by a PI-control algorithm. Due to the fact that the sensor is directly in contact with the gas an extraordinary fast reaction time is achieved. In this way, the mass flow can be maintained, regardless of pressure variations or other changes in the system. Type 8713 can optionally be calibrated for two different gases, the user is able to switch between these two gases.
