Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) systems are currently the most effective technology available to meet stringent treated effluent standards in wastewater treatment and reuse applications and wherever small footprint dictates using a more intense and compact process.
Jacopa works with customers to deliver the MBR technology that will meet the needs of each wastewater treatment requirement or problem. Over many years Jacopa has proved its leadership in the MBR arena.
The MBR couples high-rate biological wastewater treatment and complete removal of solids from the final effluent. The packages are based on a standard 2.5 or 3m diameter GRP cylindrical tank that incorporates flow balancing and solids separation as well as the MBR. They can treat from 125 to 1000 population equivalents in a very small footprint.
Membrane bioreactor technology achieves a 4-log reduction in viruses and a 6-log reduction in bacteria. This effluent complies with the World Health Organisations qualification criteria for Unlimited Irrigation. The EWT Packaged MBR meets and exceeds some of the most stringent discharge standards in the world; therefore the treated effluent can be reused for irrigation of golf courses, parks, woodlands and gardens.
Features and benefits
• Achieves an extremely high quality of effluent (better than 5:5:5 BOD:SS:Ammonia); disinfected effluent is suitable for reuse
• Small footprint
• Simple automated operation
• Minimal excavation, simple installation
• Low cost
• No screenings
• Minimal maintenance (bi-annual chemical clean of membranes)
• Minimal environmental impact: no odour; silent operation; below-ground installation
• Modular expansion
• Retro table into existing package plants
• Simple and easy operation with few moving parts
• Robust plant design for long life
