Liquids measurement

(242)

Measuring and monitoring the characteristics of liquids is a fundamental part of many industrial and environmental processes. Read More

Equipment ranges from handheld or portable instruments typically used by operators in the field to benchtop meters in laboratories and sophisticated analysers integrated into production lines.

Virtually any parameter can be measured if required. Some instruments measure single parameters; others measure multiple ones. Other features include datalogging, alarms and self-cleaning functions. pH meters give an accurate measurement of the number of hydrogen cations in a liquid, which is used to determine the acidity or alkalinity.

Conductivity instruments measure the amount of electrolyte in a liquid, from which its electrical conductivity can be calculated.

Turbidity meters measure the impact that suspended particles, such as sediment or algae, on the clarity of a liquid. High turbidity is generally associated with lower water quality.

COD (chemical oxygen demand) analysers are used to determine the quantity of organic pollutants in a liquid, typically wastewater and effluent.
