The Type 8285 is a modular analysis system that can be used to measure the pH, ORP and conductivity of process liquids. It can be fitted and remain permanently in-process, even during CIP and SIP purification.
The Type 8285s avoids contamination and cuts process time and cost by removing the need for sensor removal, cleaning and recalibration.
The version with a hygienic, polished stainless steel enclosure can be used in biotechnology, food processing and pharmaceuticals. Further applications in the chemical industry, environmental engineering, water and wastewater treatment, and for application in power plants are also possible.
During cleaning operations, even CIP and SIP purification, the Type 8285 sensor remains in situ and does not require recalibration. This saves time and cost, and ensures the sterility of the end product when changing batches.
The base unit contains the power supply, signal outputs, binary inputs and the front with graphic display with backlighting.
Three slots are available, which depending on the applications can be occupied with modules for pH, conductivity or also with a module with additional outputs.
The enamel sensors do not have to be removed or recalibrated, meaning that processes are not opened up to the risks of germs or contamination. This feature contrasts with conventional pH sensors that have electrodes that cannot be used in the extreme CIP environment.
Conventional pH sensors are usually removed using special automated armatures and are cleaned separately with chemicals, before being recalibrated, if necessary.
Type 8285 sensors have to be recalibrated only once or twice a year, and maintenance is limited to the approximately annual exchange of the electrolyte supply bottle, which is integrated into the enamel pH electrode and acts as a reservoir for the reference electrode.
