Fluid intake screens
Municipal and industrial screens are used as part of the processing and pre-treatment of a broad range of media. Read More
In wastewater, sewage and grey water screening, large objects, solids and coarse material have to be separated from the process stream. The retained solids are then removed for landfill, incineration or further treatment.
In the manufacturing and process industries, screening systems are needed for media such as foodstuffs, process water and dry granular solids.
Some screeners are self-cleaning , commonly employing mechanically raked bar systems. These are especially useful for high volumes and fast flow rates. Others have robust, low-maintenance designs with no moving parts . For remote or hard-to-access areas, screens that require no power source are available.
Water and effluent treatment contractors can undertake turnkey services that include the supply and installation of screening equipment.

Heliscreen® compact combined sewer overflow (CSO) screen
Screen CSO flows in a small footprint, maintaining high treatment efficiency even under surcharged and submerged conditions. With the threat of a sewer overflow, you need a powerful and highly efficient screen that will keep flow moving while maintaining high treatment. The Heliscreen® is a compact, powered combined sewer overflow (CSO), sanitaryAutomatic rotary screen for solids and liquid separation
Automated rotary screens separate solids from liquids using a rotating filter drum made from stainless steel grate or perforated mesh. Screen apertures range from 0.15 to 6mm, allowing for coarse or fine screening. Continuous rotation for automated solids removal. Self-cleaning action using process fluidStainless steel 316 vermin mesh grille PN16 flange
Althon flange-mounted vermin grilles are designed to fit between two flanged pipes or fittings, or at the end of a flanged pipe run: prevents rodents and other vermin entering connecting pipework; available in sizes to fit 100–450mm PN16 flanges; can be manufactured to suit any pipe size on requestHydro MicroScreen™ for solids removal from wastewater
Hydro MicroScreen™ is a low-energy, small-footprint rotating belt screen that delivers exceptional solids removal from industry process water and wastewater. Maintaining efficiency even at peak design flow rates, it enables industrial and municipal operators to meet discharge requirements, increase efficiency and save money by cutting energy andHydro-Sludge™ Screen in-line coarse material separator
Remove and compact solids from sludge to reduce solids handling costs and improve downstream treatment efficiency. The Hydro-Sludge® Screen is a superior sludge screening solution for municipal and industrial applications, delivering better performance and easier maintenance. The unit is controlled on pressure utilising pneumatics to control aStatic channel screens and sieves for solids and liquid separation
Aquatreat's static channel screens and sieves provide continuous solids and liquid separation with no power requirement and virtually no maintenance. They are simple prefabricated units with screen and sieve spacing to provide separation for a wide range of applications. All screens and meshes are made of stainless steel, providing long and- PRODUCT
Aquatreat Environmental ProductsPipe-mounted stainless steel vermin gate
Althon pipe-mounted vermin grilles are manufactured in grade 304 stainless steel. These vermin grilles for pipes are hinged to allow passage in the direction of flow but will prevent rats and other vermin climbing up the pipe. Anti-rodent pipe-mounted gratings are simply fixed into the pipe. The standard range is available for pipework fromMicro Screen - suspended solids and phosphorous removal
Robust, high-quality Micro Screens are a cost-effective and efficient way of continuously reducing levels of fine, suspended solids and phosphorous across a broad range of trade effluent and municipal wastewater treatment applications. They can be supplied as a new, stand-alone tertiary treatment solution or they can be fully integrated within anHydro-Static® combined sewer overflow (CSO) screen
Screen gross solids and floatables at CSO sites with infrequent overflows. Though overflows may be infrequent, when they occur they are still damaging to the environment. The Hydro-Static® Screen offers an economically sustainable screen for combined sewer overflow sites with infrequent overflows, but at which environmental protection is still aMNSS™ Combined Screen - for larger wastewater influent
The MNSS™ Combined Screen is designed to capture larger influent materials at the front end of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment processes, thereby protecting and improving the efficiency of downstream treatment systems. The MNSS is capable of handling flows of up to 150 litres/sec, and is suitable for smaller plants and thoseHydro-Industrial Drum Screen
The Hydro-Industrial externally-fed rotary drum screen reliably and effectively separates screenings from industrial wastewater prior to further treatment. The compact nature of the system ensures effective screening in a small footprint (as little as 0.9m2 / 9.6ft2), particularly for effluent containing high concentrations of fats and oils, and aBespoke trash screen replacement
Althon was asked to replace a trash screen to a brickwork culvert in a wooded area. The original had become distorted over time and was no longer fit for purpose as it regularly became blocked with leaves and other debris. Althon manufactured and delivered a multi–level cranked trash screen with a mesh walkway forMNSS Combined Screen protects Greenham Common STW
Thames Water’s Greenham Common Sewage Treatment Works received untreated wastewater with a high rag content and repeated carry over was affecting the full treatment process and the overall performance of the site. Hydro International was asked to evaluate the site and propose a solution. An MNSS Combined Screen was installed to capture larger influent materialsBespoke steel trash screen - Hartlebury Castle
A new trash screen was required at Hartlebury Castle, a Grade I listed building near Hartlebury in Worcestershire to replace a degrading screen that was starting to collapse. The trash screen was in an area that was difficult to access, which meant that the design of the screen needed to ensure minimal maintenance requirements and a reduced riskScreening solutions cut Opex costs at Carbarns WwTW
Hydro International's UK Wastewater Services team worked with Scottish Water to provide a solution to significantly reduce costs and high carbon use at Carbarns Carbarns Wastewater Treatment Works in the Clyde Valley. Carbarns Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW) is located in Wishaw, to the South-East of Glasgow, within the Clyde Valley. The site isHydro-Sludge® Screen protects Margate treatment works
Southern Water's Margate wastewater works needed protection from the high rag content in its untreated wastewater. Southern Water constructed a new £80million wastewater treatment works for the Margate and Broadstairs catchment area to meet the stringent European Urban Waste Water Directive and to help local beaches meet the European Bathing WaterInlet solution averts need for channel width adjustments
Hydro International's UK Wastewater Services team developed and installed a packaged inlet works system to replace and upgrade underperforming technologies, and in doing so avoided the need for investment in costly civils work. Southern Water’s Isle of Grain wastewater treatment works is situated at the very tip of England’s Kent coast. The siteEfficient industrial water treatment at carrot facility
Hydro International ran a pilot test of the Hydro MicroScreen™ rotating belt screen, to demonstrate its effectiveness in removing food solids from process water at a large carrot processing company that wanted to improve its industrial process water treatment efficiency. The existing gravity disc screen was missing solids, reducing the effectiveness of an effluent spray system
